12:51
It was already past midnight but Launt is still struggling to fall asleep. He was tired, he knew he was; but his mind is telling him he has still something to do. He studied his bedroom, it has gone hell. He doesn't know when was the last time since he last cleaned up his bedroom.
"When was the last time?" he asked his self, he counted through his mind, yet he's unable to answer his own question. Studying what his bed looked like, his eyes landed on the black wall clock, 12:51 am- he saw. Automatically, Launt was stuck for a moment; and his memories from 12:52 of April 3rd came flashing back.
-flashback-
Past midnight. Happy. Launt is counting Guinerve's brown freckles, while they're both lying on the bed. He's happy, they were happy. Staring at each other's eyes, time stood still, and by these.. they've created their own world; away from disturbances in life- away from bullshits. There's no sound, but their small giggles dominated the whole room- they don't even know what's funny, but they'll just laugh without saying anything. Until it went to total silence, Guinerve who's silently staring Launt's face, flashed a half-hearted smile.
"Launt.. Do you remember what i always told you?" Guinerve asked, breaking the flow of their mood. Launt, who stares Guinerve's face, gave a distorted look. He tried to dig up upon his brain cells to look for the answers, but he failed this time. Guinerve got no response coming from Launt, so she continues.
"Launt.. What if.. What if there's no time left for me to show how much I love you?" she said, and her words stunned Launt. He heard her say those words a million times, yet it always poison him. He always feels like he's suffocating inside a room, hard to breathe, hard to think and hard to move..
"And you know how much I hated you say that." he said tonelessly, and Guinerve knew how serious he was. The mood changed inside the room, the silence is even more deafening this time. Launt curled up his body and harshly mess his hair, he looked at her blank face first after leaving the room.
The atmosphere went down, he needs air to breathe and he needs space to think. He wanted to cry, but he doesn't want to be weak. He wanted to shout and make the tables turn, but that will make him a downright asshole. He went to the veranda, and the image of the midnight sky caught his attention. He'll always choose to be calm whenever this kind of situation happen, because it'll make his senses empower him over his ego.
The image of the midnight sky seems inviting, and it always feels like the first time he appreciated the so called- night. He thought at first, night existed for the people who drown themselves in partying, drinking boozes, meeting new faces, hooking up and just live insane. He thought of these ways as how people should enjoy their lives, how to seize their time and just live the moment. It was also midnight when he met Guinerve. The thoughts made his lips arched. He remembered..
He was high and probably drunk, his friends are on the darkest side of the bar-- hooking up with the girls they just met. He's not for hook-ups for tonight, because he thinks he's way "matured" than his friends. He's about to finish his third beer, but he got this urge feeling of needing a comfort room. He spread his sight looking for it but later he found out it's out of order. He's out of options, but to look for some place outside that he can do what the "calling" wants. He left the club in search for the certain place, he's meters away when he found a tree; and even called it "Motherfucking savior, je t'aime!". Just when he's already finished, surprisingly.. A girl popped out of nowhere, shocked; and looked Launt from his face with huge eyes looking 'down there'. He was shocked and flustering what to do, that he couldn't zip his sipper up.
"Oh fuck.. fuck!" he mumbled, and his senses somehow have been woken up. The girl wearing a Paramore shirt was stuck for a moment- stuck for what she just saw, before saying..
"Mother of all bacteria! You only got 3 inch?!"
His face turned red and hurriedly zip up his pants. He studied her look, and he's sure she wasn't his type. She looks gloomy and he can feel the negativity atmosphere living in her soul, he sensed.
"What?!" he retorted, the girl turned her back and grabbed her things at the back of the tree. Sketch pads, paints, brushes and a journal. He concluded, she might be an artist. And artists aren't his type, he's more on out-loud girls-- because they were never boring.
"You know.. I got more respect for dogs than you, you wanna know why?" she asked out of the blue while putting her things inside her bag. Launt was confused, his brain couldn't catch because of the booze he drank. The girl looked at him straight and say..
"If you teach a dog where to pee, it will follow you. Interesting it is, that you got a larger brain- I'm sure your mum thought you where to pee properly right?" she said forthright, without losing her sharp stare on Launt. He tried to process the words she just said, he's out of reasons and words to say. He thinks the girl is actually right, she has a point- that it hurts his ego. The girl with a Paramore shirt quickly paced out.
"Hey.. Hey!" he shouted following her steps. "You.. Y-you! I wasn't just 3-inch okay?!" he snapped, and think. He's actually kinda late to reason out that "inch" thing, he followed her up to her where her bike was parked.
"Hey, you! The girl wearing a Paramore shirt, I'm not 3-inch okay? You just haven't seen the bigger view." he reasoned out. "And I'm so sooorry that I'm just one of the men who'll pee everywhere when the comfort room is out of order. I mean.. Men do that?" he snapped, she positioned herself getting ready to push her wheels and she looked at Launt's face- disgusted.
"Oh my, I'm witnessing a miracle! I didn't know that DOGS can actually speak!" she exclaimed sarcastically. He's becoming angrier, no girl in his life has never insulted him like the way she does. But he thought, this girl has nothing more than just a depressed artist and being emo.
"Very funny," he said, the girl looked at him up and down.
"I wasn't even joking, now, get out of my way!"" she pushed her wheels, not even bothering her bike wheels rolled over Launt's foot.
"AAWW!" he exclaimed quickly stepping back. "It fuckin' hurts would you mind?" he complained.
"I hate to tell you that I told you so-- Ah-dah-dah-dah-dah" she sing-songed to a Paramore song, without bothering Launt's feelings. She passed by Launt.
